Things have been hectic! Wanna take a seat?
I want to start of this journal with a big thanks. Alexei
Nameless-Designer created a CSS journal for me! What a pal. Doesn't it look nice? I would have never used the CSS function if it wasn't for him

Like I said, life has been a bit hectic. Where should I start? Lets start with school. School is still "pretty cool". I am not going to lie, I enjoy going to most of my classes. Psychology is the only bummer of the day. Other then that class I am really enjoying myself. Classes, for the most part, are harder, but I enjoy studying for them, so it really isn't that bad. Ask me if I enjoy school in a couple months though, I am betting I will have a different answer
.
I am actually taking an Art History class this semester. I have mixed feelings about it. I really enjoy looking at the art, and figuring out how certain variables influenced the artist, but I also have a deep dislike for art when I listen to the lecture. I enjoy listening to peoples opinions on art, but I really despise it when we are told to take these opinions and observations as fact. I hate it when I hear, "Now this certain element is meant to evoke the feeling of an overpowering oppressor. This is what the artist was trying to convey", or something along those lines. I hate it when these opinions are pushed upon us as facts. I hear this all the time in this class, and it kind of annoys me. Why should we take the observations and opinions of art historians as factual data collected from a certain piece of art? How can a certain individual tell us how another individual setup a work? I only respect the artists interpretations of his/ her own work. Why am I learning the interpretations of some random historian?
Alright, I am done being negative! Guess what I got? Cmon, guess? I got a camera! A Canon 300d (digital rebel) to be exact. My lord, I never realized how fun cameras could be. I am having a blast learning how to use this thing! I have always enjoyed looking at certain photography. I really like macro photography and nature photography, so thats where I am heading in my "photographic career". I have to give a thank you to
ladyrapid. He really motivated me to drop a couple bills on a camera. And finally, thank you to my pop's friend, he gave me a great deal on a camera! I am now just broke, not in debt because of him! Chyeah...
I hope to get a macro lens in the next six or so months. I really enjoy taking close up shots, they seem to be the most interesting. I like the idea of capturing a view that normally is not seen, and with macro work that is almost a given attribute of a capture. I hope to get a wide angle lens in the next year or so as well. So I can capture some awesome landscapes and cloudscapes. We will see how this hobby goes
.
TerraSpace?!? Oh yeah. Things seem to be going well. I believe our next pack is just going to blow you guys away. We are just getting over a somewhat rough time over there, but I believe it is going to really help out the group in the long run. I cannot wait to see what these guys create. I know I have some awesome scenes planned with a couple other artists, but I am not naming names! I am hoping in the near future we will be seeing Terraspace as a genre stepping into a new stage, and I am going as far as to saying you guys are going to love it....
So why haven't I submitted much? Good question. I think its manly because of unfinished projects. I really do have a lot of scenes to work on, but I cannot finish them! Argh. I just might be submitting some pure Terragen work, just to get it off of my hard drive! We will see though. I also want to maybe write a paper on overhangs in Terragen, but I have a feeling that will never see the light of day either
. I think it would be fun to do though, argh. I need some sort of direction. What would you want to see from me?
I better wrap this up, I am sure I have lost about half of my readers by now! Have you guys ever looked back on your "artistic career" and laughed at the fact that you are somewhere that you never thought you would be? I remember nearly two years ago I got a new computer, and I was somewhat interested in making forum signatures. So i decided to start that up. That was my first serious (if you want to call sig making a serious art!) experience with art. Now look at where I am! It is crazy. I would have never thought I would be making scenes with various programs, and experimenting with the idea of macro photography! It is funny how life can change....
