One Day it Will Be... Amazing by BPauba One Day it Will Be... Amazing by BPauba
This has been sitting on my mac for nearly a whole summer (and then some!), and i decided to just let it go. Originally it was for the warpack (~TerraSpace), but the project never was completeled, so I decided it needed to be submitted! I am somewhat proud of the overhangs, and I am sad I havnt done more to the scene to compliment them, but eh, whatchya gunna do?

(stocks are from my own camera :D)

Wow, Tg2 is nearly here! Come the 15th I will be totally addicted to Terragen...

Have a great day.

The clouds and the foreground please me a great deal. Would have made a fine terraspace!

Looking forward to seeing some TG2 from you.

As always, Brent, you are a master. You provide the rest of us poor mortals something to strive for. I can't wait to see what your imagination does with TG2. I've downloaded, but haven't had time to open it and see what all the new bells and whistles are. Doing overhangs with TG was supposed to be "impossible", but you seem to have pulled it off with aplomb. Congratulations. Overall I think it is a great addition to your gallery, even if it isn't perfect enough for some. 2x

Very nice overhang man! Wonderful Lighting and post work to. Only thing I miss is the suns reflections on the water. Thanks for posting it!

Ah, good point. I think i lost it in post processing actually. You know when you mess with the pixel aspect ratio, things start to squeeze and morpph? (I had it at around .2, so every numerical value almost represented one fifth its amount) so the altitude of the sun was actually around 1\5th of what it was meant to be, so i had to raise it a bit in photoshop. Sorry for the horrible wording, but its somewhat hard to explain. I am sure you know what I am tlaking about :D

Yeah, I know what you mean, but there's good news! The new Terragen will do Overhangs without messing up other settings. I hope?

none of the above my friend :D. The overhangs were created with terragen.

I'm not sure if I like the clouds but they'll do, the moons are great, they look realistic and are wonderfully blended into the scene. The overhangs and horizon mountains are great, but I don't like the foreground dirt/land at all, it's texture seems bland and overly looks unbelievable. Perhaps making it look cracked or dry, or giving it some sort of additional feel/texture would make it look better or real?

Hope that helps! I can't wait for TG2 either XD.

Ahhh this is the render you've had for eons ye? ;D You've definitely made something great out of it i see. You've created an excellent atmosphere with the twilight & of course the perspective (which gets you right into it).

And the sharpness/lighting is spot on, it makes the floor of the landscape give a sense of 'perfection', with the harsh contrast of the mountains. The soft wisping clouds have great depth &.. softness to them too. ;p & hey, usually planets with that kind of crescent end up looking 'cheesy', but you've pulled it off really well.

Its amazing...It feels like I can imagine everything that would have happened to that scenery to get it to the state it is in...with the ocean creating the overhang and all

It's pretty sweet dude, the overhangs are indeed nice. One thing tho, actually 2, the overhang could need some harder shading, looks a bit pale and the planet up there looks a bit off, just wierd in every aspect lol.

I KNOW that you have a camera of your own, no need to smudge it in my face hihi.

I overall like this piece, the best part is the actual terrain set-up, the far distant one with smooth curves, me like !

Did you use the Pixel Aspect Ratio? I've been thinking of doing it myself, but I've had a lack of time =)

But great work. Very nice surface map :P
